Zaha Hadid’s design for superyachts for German shipbuilders Blohm + Voss were inspired by natural marine formations.
World renowned designer Zaha Hadid has worked on various types of objects and structures, from furniture and iconic buildings to limited edition luxury speed boats, and now superyachts for German shipbuildersBlohm + Voss.
The concept design will be used as inspiration for the design of the 90-meter-long Unique Circle Yachts. The design for the series of yachts will be pulled from the concept but will include modifications to meet the technical requirements of the vessels.
The designer described her concept design as something that incorporates parameters beyond that of architecture.
As a dynamic object that moves in dynamic environments, the design of a yacht must incorporate additional parameters beyond those for architecture – which all become much more extreme on water. Each yacht is an engineered platform that integrates specific hydrodynamic and structural demands together with the highest levels of comfort, spatial quality and safety.
