The $14 million penthouse of the west-facing building owned by Jonathon Carroll was intended to be for him, but he has decided to list the pad designed to entertain. The exterior was designed by New York-based Dutch architect Winka Dubbeldam.

The $14 million triplex penthouse at 497 Greenwich St. in SoHo has epoxy floors, reclaimed wood from a 150-year-old Missouri barn, rippled Ramon Gold limestone in the stairwells and a slanted curtain wall of glass angling up the facade of the building leading to an elevated dining area and private tanning space with an outdoor kitchen.

An outdoor kitchen provides plenty of great leisure opportunity on the sunny terrace.

“If there ever was a trophy apartment, this is it,” said Kane Manera, a member of the Leonard Steinberg team at Douglas Elliman, the agency’s top team in charge of marketing the home. “It’s something to be proud of. It’s more than a home. It’s architecture as art.”

Building owner and developer Jonathon Carroll, who co-owns the London art gallery Carroll Fletcher, was set to live in the penthouse, but changed his mind and put the unit up for sale.

The kitchen leads to an outdoor space.

Working with Australian-born architect Sally Rigg, Carroll turned the 3,500 square feet of raw indoor space into a state-of-the-art apartment with top-of-the-line finishes.

There is no shortage of natural light in this glass-walled penthouse.

“There is taste everywhere you look,” said Manera. “You almost hope the right buyer gets to live here. Someone who loves life.”

Already, rock ’n’ roll photographer Mick Rock, socialite Daniel Benedict and “CSI:NY” star Hill Harper have been through the apartment. A film premiere party is scheduled in the space for early April.

A bath in this simplistic tub could double as tanning time on a sunny afternoon.

“The last party was supposed to end at 8 p.m.,” said Manera. “We had to cut the champagne off at midnight. With all the outdoor space and levels, the place is made for entertaining.”

Watch the rising Manhattan skyline and the setting sun from this terrace.

Sunsets can be seen from almost every part of the west-facing home. Cast-iron door handles lend solidity. The master bath has two sleek showers set against the glass facade, marble walls and a glass roof looking to the sky.

“There are no shades on the windows,” said a broker familiar with the home. “It’s a very tough house for young kids.”
